The OP's suggestion, if implemented, could kill the game.
One thing that ANet has done very well is to balance a free to play game without resorting to retail schemes that create "elite" player classes.
I would be equally opposed to ANet allowing players to purchase max weapons or armor via an online store.
We already have enough people in PvE that don't play with others or actually play the game for that matter.
The ability to by pass all the content and skip to the high end is the equivalent of suicide for a game.
The journey is the game.

So you don't want to spent time on leveling and capture the elite's but you want to grind to get your cool looking 15K or FoW armor? That takes the same time or even longer. Or do you also want to buy that?
I spend 1 month to get FoW armor on my Monk and everyone who wants FoW should do the same..

if you read the Dev Table article posted a few days ago, there seems to be a "visual pack" for pvp in the works (unconfirmed though), which sounds more like what luilui is looking for. better looking pvp characters without the hassle of playing through pve to get it.

PvP players already get everything unlocked for a few bucks, and a little bit of time. Even giving them more appearance options, would be a slap in the face for PvE players. But the way Anet is heading I am sure they will be getting something to appease them.
PvP
Max Level
Perfect Weapons
Unlock Heroes ONCE at Max, and how many times do you have to Arm them and Rune them???
Unlock Skills ONCE or PvE for skill unlocks (usable for all PvP toons) OR better yet literally BUY them from the NCSoft Store.
Unlock areas ONCE
Boring Armor....awwwww
Make new toon~everythings already done.
PvE
Start Toon
Level to 20
Hopefully find perfect weapon (or buy it from someone that has)
Gather Items for armor, make(buy) armor (in some places at least 2x until Max armor available.)(Hope for Runes to "unlock" or buy them too)
Unlock Skills
Unlock Areas
Unlock, Arm, and Level heroes.
Beat Game~End Game Armor? WOOHOO.
REPEAT FROM NOTHING or Finally just opt to play one maybe two toons fully.
Yes Anet please hand more things to PvP players they have it so hard when it comes to getting things. BTW, I have played both and have a PvP toon and I even see the unfairness in the current state of things.

/agree
That sums it up completely. So if you want to make PvE complete characters (Joke) for PvP players, then allow PvE players to buy fame or rank emotes, NOT!!!!

It's different, a title mean something u've done, but a fully unlock pve character means nothing but just the look. The armor by no mean indicates what u have achieved in guildwars. Maybe FoW armor, but my suggestion is helping to get to the town, not paying for the armor with real money, u'll still have to pay with gw money.

15k armor is a status symbol in PvE if you weren't familiar with that point.
The higher cost, requires rare materials, and isolated locations make this the status of those that have played above and beyond the norm for that armor.
You and your 10 pounds do not deserve it.
For 10 pounds, they should just give you a character slot, with a level 3 character in the starting area.
It took my first character 5 months to get the first set of 15k armor. That was playing every day for about 3-4 hours.
How much Faction can you get in PvP in 5 months playing 3-4 hours. There is the cost in Faction to unlock elite armor skins for your current PvP avatar.
And I think, if you reroll, you lose the unlock.

omg i'm not asking to buy the 15k armor with 10 pounds, i'm asking to pay 10 pounds to put me in the town where i can buy the armor (as well as something else). and if i want i can do that in 5 hours to get there, but i dont think a 15k armor worth me 5 hours. I can get my friends to run me thought the campaigns. But i don't want to do that because i can have fun pvping or something else.
it took u 5 months to get ur 15k that's fine. I have already played for almost 2 years, i have enough gold to buy almost anything i want(1M gold) , i've done everything in pve at least once. Really the difference is just about that 5-10 hours of gameplay and i'm willing to pay 10 pounds to save that 10 hours that's all.
why do u guys have to look at it as if i want to commit a crime....

The trouble is, if you've payed cash money to get that far then it encourges behaviour to pay more money to go that extra step further. It encourges Gold Buying behaviour.
PvE is PvE. To make progress, you gotta play. Them's the rules and they won't change.

the whole thread is a stupid idea that will never happen its over if you want to have ''uber'' armor play pvp with your pve char unlock the skills and play but i doubt a hard core pvper like you has uber armor in his pve players end of story(again)

Hmm
Buying the skills for a PvP character is reasonable, considering if you regularly hang out in RA, you can easily gain balthazar faction to get enough points to buy the skills for a build you want to make. Even in AB if your guild is allied with lux/kurz, it's a fun way to grab some balthazar faction too. So it's not too hard to grab those factions and skills. The reward for PVP is learning how the skills work, learning to work cooperatively with teams (even if random) and titles that give you the ability to hold even more balthazar faction at once. So buying skills doesn't totally rip out PVP per se as you still have to have that *PvP experience* to gain the titles/unlock new arena areas/etc.
I really do not like the idea of making PVE items/skills buyable. OR even placing you in an area to buy either items. You learn after you have played this game through several times (like myself, EXCEPT for NF), that you can either do things again because you're helping a friend/guild mate, or there's a weapon you want, armor you want, skill you want that can only be found in one area. If you were given the ability to unlock your PVE character similarly like the PVP character, it totally drains the PVE experience. I understand it gets old when you're doing things over and over again and I personally have at least 10 characters where each week/month there's always SOMETHING I'm wanting to grab. You only have to go through several times because you choose to. The game is intended to be explored similarly in order to get skills/unlock areas/uncover fog. You chose to make those characters and I chose to make mine.
You GAIN those areas on the map... you UNCOVER fog, grab skills from each town, grab armor from a town of choice because you MADE it there through the story line. Allowing people to skip through like that spoils PvE and would cause more issues just by being implemented.
I also don't agree with the suggestion to make PVE armors available to PVP characters. The armors are gained through showing allegiance to an alliance, or actively playing through the story line. However, it would be interesting if Anet added a special pvp gear to the lines of the ones you can currently create based on PVP titles achieved. X gladiator points can get you a special PVP edition armor choice on PVP characters.
Sorry if half of this is rambling... I got called away several times to work on stuff at the shop. :P
